First thing I recall is the bunch of us, standing in the middle of the road, in a circle around the dead body of Heazzol's friend. Nobody seemed to know what was going on, but it looked as though there had been quite a fight. There was a lot of blood on the ground, and Heasel and Garinn were wounded. [An extra sword, covered in blood, that Tar believed was his friend Dave's, was also located at the site, Dusty] Cinder appeared to have been recently released from the shackles in the cart that had pulled off to the side of the road next to us. All of her equipment was packed up on her horse, which was tied to the back of the cart. When I came to my senses, she was holding Shallelle's sword. It seemed strange that Heasel's friend had the key to the shackles in the cart, and that he was carrying a document which declared Cinder to be a criminal, wanted for murder and theivery. Along with this document was a note, written in Garinn's handwriting, which stated that she was to be delivered, safe and unharmed, to someone named Feldorn. Garinn admitted that he was aquainted with someone named Feldorn from his recent sea voyage, but claimed to remember nothing of the note.
The note, plus the vial that Garinn was carrying, which we later confirmed to be 'sleepy sauce', indicated that Garinn had been part of a plan to capture Cinder. Most likely, Heasel and his dead pal were working for Garinn, given the key and the note. As we later discovered, Cinder's capture would also explain my presence, and that of Tar, since we were her travelling companions. The presence of Shallelle, our Taubradanion friend, is as mysterious to me now as it was then, given that her position when we all came to harly indicated that she was part of the capturing party. The only hope we had of learning what had happened lay in the notes statement that a message could be left for Feldorn at the Naughty Sprite, an inn in the town of Tralindon.
Our arrival back in Tralindon didn't hold much more in the way of answers. The last anyone there seemed to recall was that Cinder, Tar, and myself had headed out of town on some sort of expidition about a week earlier. As far as I know, the rest of you hadn't been seen in Tralindon at all. After having a few beers with the blacksmith, Jovan, for whom Cinder had been working before our little adventure, we split up. It wasn't until we all met up again at the Laughing Oyster that I heard the first clues that might lead us to learn how we had been brought together. Tar had somehow gotten information that our original planned destination might have been a place called the 'Fallen Keep'. From Tar's description, this was a remote place rumoured to be inhabited by Dark Climbers. Garinn had gotten word that Fallindon had rented a ship, and would be coming back to town in a few days. So, we decided to wait. [Tar also learned that your plan was to hit Taubradanion before the Fallen Keep to look for any fellow adventurers that could help out, Dusty]
When word came that Feldorn had returned, Garinn dashed off for the docks. Heazzol followed on Garinn's heels, and the rest of us trailed after, eventually winding up at the Naughty Sprite. By the time I got there, the loose cannon was already up in Fallindon's room having a chat. From what I can piece together of Garinn's story, Fallindon was to pay him 20 gold pieces for delivering Cinder. The description of Garinn's lunge at Feldorn with the sleepy sauce is what first lead me to believe he would have required a stealthy aid to manage the capture of Cinder ... perhaps there was a reason for Shallelle's presence, after all....
[We stopped play before Garinn had opened the door. We were in the midst of discussing the thoughts that might be passing through Garinn's mind about his plan. Feldorn is a large man who has shown multiple signs of mistrusting Garinn and was obviously on his toes throughout the whole discussion. If the roles were reversed, Garinn doubts that Feldorn would be able to pull the move off on himself. Of course there is a chance it can work as planned, but I just want to make sure Glenn understands the situation as well as Garinn., Dusty]
Screen goes out of focus.... and then begins to slowly rotate and pulsate.
Screen refocuses on Gurinn as he opens the door. "I'll let you know where to deliver the money and pick up the babe." he says, as he saunters out. It had all been a dream sequence (Now don't you feel cheated).
